I prefer the South City Voice version because it didn’t loose the rhythm. The South City version respected the Star Spangled Banner originality, but also they made it their own.
When Stravinsky gets to the middle part of the SSB, he slows down and more delicate. But, he starts again and he gets back on track with the same rhythm. He made a good transition.
I believe none of the two versions are offensive. Although, the Hendrix’s version could be considered “offensive” because it wasn’t a classical performs. Hendrix performed in the Woodstock. The Woodstock was considered a concert for hippies and people didn’t viewed that as a good thing. People could’ve not approved of the guitar version of the SSB. Overall, both version are in their own creative way without losing its originality.
